Technological innovation is reshaping tunnel and maritime construction sites, where hazardous and confined environments continue to pose significant safety challenges.
This three-hour virtual event will bring together industry experts, technology providers, researchers, and policy stakeholders to discuss how innovation can enhance working conditions in these complex construction settings.
Building on real-life demonstrations and pilot experiences, the workshop will showcase practical applications, from the deployment of automation and digitalisation in tunnel construction to advances in additive manufacturing, material development and testing in the maritime sector.
The programme will also feature an EU-Japan collaboration case study, illustrating how international cooperation can accelerate innovation while maintaining high safety standards.
Throughout the workshop, participants will be invited to actively engage through interactive feedback sessions and surveys, sharing their perspectives on the presented technologies.
