On January 12th, the Additive Manufacturing work package partners had a kick-start workshop and demo at COBOD's facilities near Copenhagen. Acciona, Caidio, COBOD, Holcim, Infraplan, and Seaboost were in attendance.
The Additive Manufacturing work package focuses on leveraging 3D Concrete Printing (3DCP) technology for marine caisson design & manufacturing, to boost the efficiency of the structure and its environmental impact. The aim is to optimize both the design and manufacturing of the caisson itself and also to introduce artificial reefs on the caisson’s surfaces, to promote bio-marine life development.
The partners were shown the manufacturing process, from equipment to labs, and a printing demo. After the visit, the partners worked together to develop a roadmap for future development.
It was a meaningful step forward for the project.
